Senior Barista

Location: 41 First Avenue, Brighton and Hove, BN3 2FH

The Flour Pot Bakery is seeking a passionate Senior Barista to join their team in a leading role within their coffee service. This role involves assisting the Head Barista with maintaining high standards of coffee preparation, training staff, and delivering excellent customer service. The position requires a proactive individual with a love for specialty coffee to help foster a warm and welcoming bakery environment.

Duties:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages with precision and consistency.
• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service.
• Support and mentor new and existing baristas regarding techniques and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the coffee area.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering coffee.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
• Troubleshoot and maintain coffee equipment.
• Act as a keyholder for opening and closing duties.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a barista, ideally in a leadership or senior role.
• Passion for specialty coffee, including knowledge of brewing methods, extraction, and latte art.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner.
• Experience in training and mentoring staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and keen eye for detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
