Early Years Educator

Location: Sussex House Nursery, Sussex House Royal Sussex County Hospital, 1 Abbey Road, Brighton, BN2 1ES

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Early Years Educator to join Sussex House Nursery, an NHS workplace nursery based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. This part-time role involves working Wednesday to Friday for 25.5 hours per week, with additional flexible hours potentially available. The nursery operates from 07:00 to 18:00, requiring staff to work a variety of shifts where flexibility is essential.

Duties:

• Provide a safe, caring, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 2-3 years.
• Build strong attachments with children and deliver age-appropriate activities.
• Work closely with parents and carers to ensure continuity of care, routines, and individual developmental needs.
• Act as a Key Worker to a designated group of children to support their care and educational needs.
• Plan and deliver activities, undertake observations, and complete individual assessments using the EYFS curriculum.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 Childcare Qualification.
• Experience working with children under the age of 5 years, including babies and toddlers.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, milestones, and safeguarding.
• Right to work in the UK (the role does not meet minimum criteria for visa sponsorship).
• Subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
