BANK Housekeeping Assistant

Location: Princess Royal Hospital, Lewes Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 4EX

The role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across hospital areas, including wards, corridors, and patient bed spaces, in accordance with National Standards of Cleanliness. As a bank position, this role offers flexible working patterns to support the hospital's operations and patient care services. You will be expected to adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines while interacting professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.

Duties:

• Clean corridors, offices, stairs, toilets, bathrooms, and patient bed spaces
• Replenish disposable items and change bed curtains
• Dispose of clinical and domestic waste
• Operate floor scrubbing and maintenance machinery
• Ensure correct use and storage of chemicals according to COSHH regulations
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults

Requirements:

• Good level of general education, numeracy, and literacy
• Strong command of English for effective communication
• Willingness to undergo mandatory training in COSHH, health and safety, and infection control
• NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning and Support Services or willingness to obtain
