The Seaside View Children's Occupational Therapy team is seeking an enthusiastic assistant to promote independence in children and young people aged 0-19. You will work within clinic settings, nurseries, and schools, delivering individual therapy, running groups, and educating families and professionals. The role involves supporting children with various conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and learning difficulties while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Duties:
- Carry out delegated tasks, monitor and review progress, and adjust activities within set criteria.
- Provide treatment programmes to clients on an individual or group basis.
- Report and document variances in a patient's condition or planned pathway of care.
- Participate in skill sharing and acquisition of clinical competencies.
- Support the smooth running of the team including administrative tasks.
- Obtain valid informed consent and work within the legal framework.
Requirements:
- NVQ3 or equivalent level of knowledge.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- At least 12 months experience of working in a caring environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and ability to build rapport.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Ability to travel cost efficiently across the catchment area.
