Lifeguard

Location: Brighton College, Brighton and Hove, UK

Brighton College is seeking to appoint Lifeguards to ensure the safety of swimming pool users on an ad-hoc, zero-hour basis. This is an all-year-round appointment where hours are provided as needed, and availability will be discussed during the interview process.

Duties:

• Maintain a constant surveillance of pool users and recognise and react to signs of danger.
• Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of pool users.
• Carry out emergency rescues and treatments until medical staff arrive.
• Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users.
• Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users.
• Ensure timetabled sessions are set up and cleared away promptly.
• Perform cleaning duties on a day-to-day basis to achieve high standards of presentation.
• Assist with sports equipment set ups and supervise activities.
• Adhere to the College's Health and Safety Policy.

Requirements:

• Must possess an up to date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• At least six months of lifeguarding experience is essential.
• Customer focused with a passion for providing exceptional service.
• Driven, enthusiastic, and able to work effectively as part of a team or unsupervised.
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and use own initiative.
