Join the team at The Flour Pot Bakery in Elm Grove, Brighton, as a Café Key Holder and play a vital role in supporting our daily operations. We are a renowned artisan bakery and café committed to handcrafted products, sustainability, and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for opening or closing the store, ensuring smooth service, and assisting with leading the team alongside the café management team. This position requires a passion for hospitality, excellent leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to delivering outstanding customer experiences. Whether you are setting up for service, managing cash handling, or preparing high-quality coffee and food, your reliability and punctuality will be key. We offer a competitive pay rate of £12.85 per hour on a casual contract with flexible hours between 16 and 40 per week. Duties:
- Responsible for opening and closing the café, including setting up for service and securing the premises.
- Delivering outstanding customer service and upholding The Flour Pot Bakery’s high standards.
- Supporting and motivating the team to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Assisting with stock management, health and safety compliance, and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Confidently preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food with consistency and speed.
- Accurately processing transactions, handling cash, and supporting end-of-day reporting.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a hospitality, café, or retail environment is required.
- Experience in a supervisory or key holder role is strongly preferred.
- Passion for great coffee, food, and customer service with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while remaining reliable and punctual.
- Awareness of food hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided).
