Head Barista

Location: 13-14 Sydney St, Brighton BN1 4EN, UK

Trading Post Coffee Roasters is seeking an experienced Head Barista to lead the team at their Sydney Street location. You will ensure coffee is consistently served to the highest standards, engage with guests, and maintain a prompt speed of service. This role is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, offering a collaborative working environment.

Duties:

• Dialling in grinders for all blends and single origins to the brand standard
• Open and close down the coffee section independently
• Train and develop team members and actively encourage continuous professional development
• Maintain the standard speed of service, coffee quality and overall consistency, in a fast-paced environment
• Pouring advanced latte art and have an understanding of alternative milks
• Maintain cleanliness standards at all times
• Demonstrate an understanding of all Trading Post blends and single origins including tasting notes and recipes
• Consistently deliver great hospitality with huge personality within the hospitality standards framework
• Undertake regular training and always be striving for self-improvement
• Lead and support a busy team and take an active part in contributing to team-driven results
• Display a smart and professional appearance, striving to represent Trading Post Coffee Roasters in a positive way

Requirements:

• Strong leadership skills
• The drive for continuous development and improvement
• Strong barista, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with team members and guests
• Ability to use initiative to problem solve and work well under pressure
• Dedicated team-player, leading by example with an 'all in this together' attitude and always striving for excellence
• Only those eligible to work in the UK or have a valid UK work permit/visa will be considered for this position
