Catering Assistant

Location: Brighton, BN1 1UF, UK

Seeking Catering Assistants to join a school catering team across educational settings in Brighton. The role involves helping to prepare and serve nutritious meals to pupils while ensuring the kitchen remains clean and safe. Shift times are approximately 7:30am to 3:30pm, with shifts available 7 days per week offering flexible working patterns to suit individual availability.

Duties:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food
• Serving pupils and staff during meal services
• Operating tills where required
• Clearing dining areas and maintaining a clean environment
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Supporting chefs and catering teams with day-to-day kitchen duties
• Following food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Friendly, reliable, and hardworking with a positive, team-focused attitude
• Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy catering environment
• Previous catering or customer service experience is essential
• Previous experience working in a school or educational environment is desirable
• Enhanced DBS check required (support provided if not currently held)
