Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

Brighton PartTimer ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website brightonparttimer.co.uk. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

Brighton PartTimer is a free, community-driven job board that curates part-time, flexible, and student-friendly job listings in Brighton & Hove.

Contact: [email protected]

2. How We Source Job Listings

Many of the job listings on Brighton PartTimer are curated from publicly available job advertisements posted on employer websites and career pages. We summarise these listings in our own words, extract the key factual details (such as the job title, location, hours, wage, and requirements), and publish them on our site with a direct link back to the employer's original application page.

We may display the employer's name and logo alongside a listing to help job seekers identify the company. Employer names are used solely to accurately identify who is hiring (nominative fair use), and logos are loaded from third-party services or public sources.

We do not collect or process any personal data from employers whose jobs we curate in this way. If you are an employer and would like your listings removed from our site, please email us at [email protected] and we will remove them promptly.

3. What We Collect

Information You Give Us

If you submit a job listing through our "Post a Job" form, we collect your name, email address, and the job listing details (title, employer, wage, hours, description, and application instructions). We do not require you to create an account.

Information Collected Automatically

  • A one-way hash of your IP address when you submit a job, used solely to enforce rate limits and prevent spam. We do not store your raw IP address.
  • Aggregate usage statistics such as the number of "Apply" and "Share" clicks per day, and anonymised search query trends. These are not linked to any individual.
  • Your session preferences (recent search query, active filters, sort order) are stored in a session cookie while you browse.
  • If you start filling out the Post a Job form, your contact name and email may be saved in your browser's local storage so they are pre-filled on future visits. This data stays on your device until you clear it.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services that may collect data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the site. Sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to track page views, session duration, and traffic sources. Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — to protect the Post a Job form from spam. Analyses browser interaction patterns invisibly. Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — to load web fonts. Your browser sends a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address.

We also use third-party services for hosting, content delivery, and displaying employer logos. Your browser may make requests to these services' servers as part of normal page loading.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To publish job listings — we review your submission and, if approved, publish it on the site.
  • To contact you — we may email you with questions about your submission.
  • To prevent abuse — we use hashed IPs and Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam.
  • To improve the site — aggregate analytics help us understand what visitors are looking for.

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited cases:

  • Internal notifications: When you submit a job listing, a notification containing the job details and your contact name and email is sent to a private channel for the site operator's review.
  • Third-party services: Google Analytics and Cloudflare Turnstile, as described above.
  • Hosting provider: Our website and database are hosted on a secure third-party server.
  • Law enforcement: If required by law or in response to a valid legal request.
