College Protection Officer

Location: Brighton College, Brighton, UK

Seeking College Protection Officers to join the Brighton College protection team on a zero-hour, ad-hoc basis. The role involves acting as a key point of contact for visitors, staff, pupils, and on-site residents while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. Shifts are scheduled on a rota system between 06:30 and 23:00, seven days a week, including bank holidays.

Duties:

• Provide five-star customer service and a welcoming Front of House presence on College properties
• Monitor traffic, patrol College grounds, and secure exits, entrances, and buildings
• Respond to emergency calls, fire or burglar alarms, and write basic reports
• Liaise with event organisers, college staff, pupils, and external clients

Requirements:

• Customer service experience and a friendly, approachable manner
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is preferred, though training can be provided to candidates without it
• Strong team-working abilities and good basic IT skills
