Patient Care Advisor Receptionist

Location: St Peter's Health Centre, 30-36 Oxford Street, Brighton, BN1 4LA, UK

Seeking a part-time Patient Care Advisor to join St Peter’s Health Centre. The role involves front‑line reception, patient navigation and administrative support, with flexible hours to meet service needs. The successful candidate will provide compassionate customer service, manage appointments and support digital health tools.

Duties:

• Serve as first point of contact, welcoming patients and visitors courteously.
• Provide face‑to‑face and telephone customer service, handling enquiries sensitively.
• Manage appointment requests, bookings, amendments and cancellations using SystmOne and digital systems.
• Support patients with digital services such as SystmConnect and the NHS App.
• Signpost patients to appropriate NHS and community services.
• Process new patient registrations and maintain accurate patient records.
• Perform clinical and general administrative tasks including pathology requests, booking interpreters, handling post and scanning correspondence.
• Maintain information management and governance compliance within SystmOne.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in team meetings, audits and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a customer service, reception or administrative role.
• Experience handling patient enquiries face‑to‑face or by telephone.
• Proficiency with IT systems and accurate data entry.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage a varied workload.
• Good communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good standard of general education, including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Good level of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to undertake training and continuous learning.
