Senior Healthcare Assistant - Talent Pool

Location: Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, BN2 5BE

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit Senior Healthcare Support Workers into their talent pool for future vacancies. Duties:

• Assist patients with personal care including meeting hygiene and continence needs
• Assist with patient nutritional needs such as eating, drinking, menu selection, and meal delivery
• Assist patients to mobilise where appropriate
• Undertake delegated clinical care duties including recording patient observations, blood glucose monitoring, and simple wound dressings
• Assist in the collection of specimens and record results after training
• Support patients undergoing clinical procedures under the supervision of a qualified nurse
• Assist in the maintenance of up-to-date, comprehensive, and accurate records

Requirements:

• Previous NHS or NHS primary care experience, or internationally educated nurse/midwife/doctor with acute hospital experience
• Care Certificate from an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation (must be attached to application)
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills equivalent to Level 3 vocational qualification
• Evidence of championing diversity and undertaking personal development on equalities issues
• Subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
