Kitchen Porter

Location: Brighton, BN1 1UF, UK

Seeking a Kitchen Porter to join a school catering team in Brighton, playing a vital role in keeping kitchens clean, safe, and running efficiently. Offers flexible shifts operating 7 days per week, with approximate shift times of 7:30am – 3:30pm or 12:00pm – 8:30pm, with candidates ideally available for 4 or more shifts per week. Supports the kitchen team by maintaining hygiene standards, washing equipment, and assisting with general kitchen duties.

Duties:

• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Operating commercial dishwashers
• Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean and tidy
• Assisting with deliveries and storing stock correctly
• Removing waste and recycling safely
• Supporting chefs and catering teams with basic food preparation when required
• Following food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen porter or catering experience is essential
• Reliable and hardworking individual with a positive, team-focused attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Good organization and attention to cleanliness
• Willingness to learn and follow food hygiene procedures
• Capability to commit to working regularly (4+ shifts per week)
• Subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
