Barista & Front Of House

Location: 121 Portland Road, Brighton and Hove, BN3 5QH, UK

Seeking a passionate Barista and Front of House team member for The Flour Pot Bakery. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.

Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customers feel welcome and valued.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including expertly crafted coffee-based drinks.
• Operate espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment with precision.
• Assist customers with menu choices and offer recommendations on baked goods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all front‑of‑house areas, including counters, tables, and equipment.
• Process transactions efficiently using the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Assist with stock management, including restocking display cases and ensuring freshness of products.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a barista or front‑of‑house role is preferred but not essential—training will be provided.
• Passion for coffee, baked goods, and excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a proactive approach to teamwork.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Knowledge of coffee‑making techniques and food safety standards is a plus.
