Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

Location: 130-134 Western Road, Brighton, BN1 2LA, UK

Seeking a Customer Delivery Driver and Supermarket Assistant for Waitrose. The role involves delivering groceries to customers' doors and performing in‑store tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping. Working patterns are varied, covering full‑time or part‑time across all seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.

Duties:

• Be a friendly face for the Waitrose brand while on the road, providing excellent customer service.
• Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions, or short‑dated items and process refunds when needed.
• Handle all products and deliveries with care.
• Ensure customers are not charged extra for substituted items.
• Assist customers with their groceries and build trusting relationships.
• Familiarise yourself with the delivery route for the day.
• Perform a full safety check of the van before deliveries.
• Help the wider CFC team with general warehouse tasks when off the road.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Hold a full, valid UK manual car driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Possess strong people skills and a friendly approach to customer service.
• Able to perform physical work such as lifting crates, walking stairs, and moving large cages up to approximately 18 kg.
• Previous experience driving for work or familiarity with refrigerated vans is desirable.
