Barista

Location: 1 Ditchling Road, Fiveways, Brighton and Hove, BN1 6JT

The Flour Pot Bakery is seeking a passionate and customer-focused team member to join the store at Fiveways. Providing counter and dine-in service, this role involves delivering excellent service within a fast-paced environment that includes a popular weekend brunch and lunch service. Shifts are scheduled across the week with start times ranging from 6:30am to 9am and end times from 3pm to 5:30pm, requiring availability for weekends and holidays.

Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customers feel welcome and valued.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee-based drinks.
• Operate espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment.
• Assist customers with menu choices and offer recommendations on baked goods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in front-of-house areas.
• Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Assist with stock management and maintain product freshness.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.

Requirements:

• Previous barista or front-of-house experience preferred but not essential; training is provided.
• Table service experience is desirable.
• Passion for coffee, baked goods, and customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and proactive approach to teamwork.
