Health Care Assistant
Location: Ardingly Court Surgery, 1 Ardingly Street, Brighton, BN21SS, UK
Ardingly Court GP Surgery is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join a friendly healthcare team. Working schedule is Monday to Friday, ideally 30 to 37.5 hours per week, with flexible start times around 8:30am or 9:00am. The role involves delivering patient care, preventative screening, patient education, and administrative support alongside the nursing team.
Duties:
- Assist medical personnel with patient treatment, screening, preventative care, and patient education
- Conduct blood pressure checks, urinalysis, and restock clinical rooms
- Undertake training to carry out learning disability checks, diabetes foot assessments, ECG measurements, B12 injections, and NHS health checks
- Assist with infection control processes and clinical audits
- Utilize clinical computer systems for record keeping and administrative tasks
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a GP practice, or ability to independently run phlebotomy clinics in an NHS setting
- Experience in phlebotomy services and basic health checks
- Confident utilizing PCs for record keeping, internal communications, and software
- High level of verbal and written English with a solid knowledge of patient confidentiality
- Subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
