Hospitality, Supermarket Assistant

Location: 18 Southwick Square, BN42 4FJ

Seeking a Hospitality, Supermarket Assistant to demonstrate knowledge and passion for food on service counters while building lasting relationships with customers. The role involves bringing the Waitrose ethos to life and helping to maximize sales and profit while delivering excellent service. Working schedule includes Sunday 05:30 - 13:30 and Thursday 13:30 - 18:30.

Duties:

• Take responsibility for the food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
• Stay on top of stock levels to ensure products are available when needed.
• Follow all due diligence and health & safety protocols when working with open food to reduce food wastage.
• Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values.
• Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or over due to working time regulations.
• Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
• Customer facing, catering, or hospitality experience is desirable.
• Strong interest and up-to-date knowledge in food and drink trends is desirable.
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch is desirable.
