Kitchen Porter
Location: Shelter Hall, Brighton, UK
Seeking a Kitchen Porter to play an essential role in keeping the venue running smoothly behind the scenes at Shelter Hall on Brighton's seafront. The role supports kitchen and back-of-house teams by keeping areas clean, organised, and ready for service. The position is offered on a temporary basis with full-time or part-time options available in a fast-paced food hall environment.
Duties:
- Keeping kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, tidy and organised
- Washing kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and other items as required
- Ensuring clean equipment is returned quickly and safely to the correct areas
- Supporting with cleaning throughout service and at the end of the day
- Managing waste and recycling correctly
- Following all food hygiene, health & safety and COSHH procedures
- Keeping floors, sinks, storage and wash-up areas clean and safe
- Supporting the wider team wherever needed during busy services
- Reporting any equipment, maintenance or safety issues to the management team
Requirements:
- Previous Kitchen Porter or hospitality experience is great, but not essential
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet
- Happy working in a physical and hands-on role
- Positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Reliable and a strong team player
- Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Good level of English language
- Right to work in the UK
