Theatre Staff
Location: Brighton College, Brighton, UK
Brighton College is seeking Theatre Staff on an ad-hoc, zero-hour basis to support the Performing Arts Team during events held within the Richard Cairns Building and Music School. The role involves supporting patrons, providing a friendly and welcoming environment, and ensuring audience safety and comfort throughout live performances. Services are provided on an all-year-round ad-hoc basis as events occur.
Duties:
- Arrive in good time to commence shifts and report to the Duty Manager for show briefings
- Keep the foyer, public areas, and theatre spaces clean, tidy, and presentable at all times
- Pick up rubbish during intervals and following performances
- Welcome audience members, check tickets, and help seat them within the theatre spaces
- Sell show refreshments and merchandise, such as programmes, scripts, and ice creams
- Assist with emergency evacuations and uphold health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Excellent problem-solving, fault-finding, and decision-making skills
- Interest in and passion for the arts, enthusiasm, and calmness
- Ability to work collaboratively with good standard of spoken and written English
- Good time management and highly organized
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures within technical theatre
