Project Manager
About the role
Location: George Williams Centre, Portslade, Brighton & Hove
Seeking a Project Manager for Morton Court, a supported housing community within the George Williams Centre. The role is permanent, 32 hrs/week, and includes participation in an emergency on‑call rota. The manager will lead daily operations, foster a Psychologically Informed Environment, and oversee partnerships and resident initiatives.
Duties:
- Provide clear direction, day‑to‑day support, and compassionate leadership to the team, managing recruitment, inductions, 1‑to‑1 supervision, performance reviews, and reflective practice sessions.
- Embed Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) practices, strengths‑based and recovery‑focused approaches across casework and encourage resident involvement through initiatives such as the Breakfast Club, Pizza Club, and art/music spaces.
- Lead the welcome process for prospective residents in collaboration with referral panels and build networks with local commissioners, adult social care, MASH, health services, and community partners.
- Oversee property security, cleanliness, and maintenance schedules, manage project expenditure, support residents with rent and financial inclusion, and participate in an emergency on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours guidance.
- Maintain robust safeguarding standards, adhere to GDPR/confidentiality requirements, and ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and COSHH regulations.
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of homelessness, complex trauma, dual diagnosis, and social exclusion.
- Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), strengths‑based care, and recovery models.
- Practical knowledge of housing management, tenancy matters, and welfare systems including Universal Credit.
- Proven experience line‑managing, coaching, and supporting frontline staff, as well as managing budgets and tracking operational outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills, emotional resilience, and ability to manage complex or challenging situations calmly and assertively.
- Alignment with core values of equity, diversity, and empowerment, and flexibility to join the emergency on‑call rota.
- Relevant qualifications in Housing, Social Care, or Management (desirable).
